Design Communication
This module has been both enjoyable and surprisingly relaxing. The assignments we were given were not as difficult as those in the other modules. I've learned a lot about technical drawings, creating a presentation board, and how to make my architectural handwriting neater and more presentable. The lecturers and tutors were extremely helpful in providing us with useful insights into the construction industry, allowing us to improve the quality of our work.
Graphics, Sketching and Tonal values
We were each given the task of creating a movie poster. We had to include a human figure and one man-made object in the movie poster. Unlike many other assignments, the movie poster had to be coloured. As the main theme, I've chosen "Violet Evergreen," my favourite anime. The emotions I felt throughout the anime were poured into this poster as I planned its colours and composition of natural and man-made elements. I had a lot of fun designing this poster, but I also learned about the significance of word size and how it affects the overall look of the poster.
Orthographic, Axonometric and Perspective drawings
Individually, we produced 2-dimentional and 3-dimentional drawings in three stages, manually and continuously, using orthographic projections. Its primary goal is to investigate manual projection methods in architectural drawing, with an emphasis on architectural conventions, symbols, and line quality. Aside from that, some of us used AutoCAD to create the necessary drawings ( the Farnsworth House ). Plans, elevations, and sections are examples of orthographic projections. We had to create an exploded axonometric as well as one and two point perspectives.
